Serious i am using garamond and i want to change the font to be a more professional one.

Garamond gives more characters per line than times new roman or any other serif font really while not looking too busy. Every resume is going to be different. If you prefer serif fonts i use cambria or garamond if you prefer sans serif fonts use calibri level 2.
I would also say that headings and names should be slightly larger to help the flow. I wouldn t go smaller than that. Times new roman is the most commonly used font which is exactly why you should stay away from it unless you want your résumé to look like everyone else and get lost. If you want to bold your job title but not the company or something similar that s fine too just be absolutely sure that your choice of formatting is consistent and actually doesn t detract from the resume itself.

Google s head of hr says a crisp focused resume demonstrates an ability to synthesize prioritize and convey the most important information about you his article has some good tips about editing and it s value. Generally especially for the majority of the resumes that come through here i would say 9 is fine to get it all on one page.
